About
Hi, I'm Nishant Gupta.
I'm 43, a father of two daughters, and I spent more than 15 years in the IT industry.
In my late thirties I noticed that very few people in IT actually retire at 60. I didn't think I'd be the exception, so I started preparing. I closed my only loan in my early thirties, bought my own term and health cover, wrote my will at 38, and tried side businesses, including a home-meal service that shut down within a year.
When the layoff came, a few years earlier than I expected, there were no EMIs to panic about. I wrote about it in my Lay-off Diary, and that's how this site grew.
I'm not a financial adviser. I share what I did with my own money, so people my age can decide with fewer surprises.
