The Ultimate Singapore Family Itinerary (2025 Edition)
A Complete Day-wise Guide for Indian Families with Kids & Vegetarians
Planning a family getaway to Singapore? You’ve come to the right place! This article will help you plan a family trip to Singapore – with all the tips from my own personal experience. Itinerary is designed for all curious travelers traveling with kids, who want a fun, practical and memorable Singapore experience — balancing adventure, sight-seeing, and those all-important pool and shopping breaks.
Before You Book Your Tickets: The Real Talk About Singapore
Yes, you’ll walk a lot. Even if you take cabs to reach your destination (which will be very costly), each attraction will require minimum half a day of walk. If you are someone not used to it, skip Singapore. But if you think you can manage (use strollers/pram for kids), then Singapore is a must-go especially for families with kids – it’s safe, clean, easily navigable, and packed with attractions that delight both adults and kids of all ages!
Day-wise Family Singapore Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival, Settle-in, and First Experiences
Your first day’s schedule depends on your arrival time in Singapore:
Morning Arrival?
Check into your hotel (request early check-in if possible).
If early check-in isn’t available, drop luggage and head straight to your hotel pool—kids will love the immediate splash!
Freshen up, grab an Indian meal at a nearby eatery.
By evening, visit the iconic Merlion and stroll Marina Bay Promenade for stunning sunset photos and the magical light show.
Head back early for good rest.
Evening Arrival?
Head to your hotel, settle in, and if energy permits, take a relaxed walk around Clarke Quay. Grab dinner at a riverside café, soak in the lights, and adjust to the local vibe.
Family Tip:
Always carry a change of clothes in your hand luggage for quick pool fun or freshening up if your room isn’t ready
Avoid Jewel Changi attractions on landing—you’ll have huge suitcases and tired kids.
Get good sleep tonight; tomorrow is action-packed!
Day 2: Universal Studios Singapore – Full Thrill Day on Sentosa
Reserve a full day at Universal Studios Singapore (on Sentosa Island). Kids and grown-ups will love the amazing rides, character parades, and live shows across seven magical zones.
Reach Universal Studios by 10:00–10:30 AM.
You don’t need an expensive Express Pass if you dedicate the entire day—standard entry gets you on all major rides by closing time (usually 7:00 PM).
Plan the major attractions using app and waiting time: Transformation, Mummy’s revenge, Jurassic Park and Shrek 4D.
Use Single person lane if regular queue is too long
Return via Sentosa Express or RWS8 bus to Vivocity.
Enjoy dinner at Harborfront with views—everyone deserves a celebratory meal after this adventure!
Absolute Must-Know Tips:
🚨 Go on Weekdays Only! Avoid Saturdays, Sundays, and Singapore public holidays—queues can exceed 2+ hours. 🚨 Don’t Squeeze Other Activities Today. Universal Studios needs your full energy. 🚨 Bring refill bottles with you. There are enough points to fill drinking water 🚨 Pack Your Own Lunch! You will not find Indian food inside Universal. So carry food which you can eat while waiting in queue for the rides – sandwiches, parathas, theplas, or idlis. Also carry fruits and dry snacks as quick energy boosters. This saves time and money while maximizing ride time.
Day 3: Gardens by the Bay – The Green Heart of Singapore

Family Tip:
You can combine Flyer, ArtScience Museum and Cloud Forest in one day, but only if your family is energetic.

Day 4: Sentosa Part 2 – Aquariums, Magic & Beach Fun
Post breakfast, head back to Sentosa again for full day of fun. There is so much to cover!
10:30 AM – Singapore Oceanarium
One of the world’s largest aquariums with over 40,000 marine animals.
Budget 2–3 hours of walking and exploration.
Kids are mesmerized by the massive tank and underwater tunnel.
Note:Skip Oceanarium if you’ve visited one in Dubai, or Thailand, or if your family isn’t enthusiastic about marine life. Alternatively, you can visit Madam Tussad’s if interested

Day 5: Animal Magic – Zoo or Night Safari
Day 5 will be scheduled basis your preference – do you want to see animals in daytime or during night.
Option 1: Singapore Zoo (Daytime)
My personal recommendation is to visit the Singapore zoo in day-time. Reach by 10.30am as the zoo closes at 6pm and you will easily need full day to cover all the sections.
Watch all the types of animals you know and dont know about in real – including Kangaroos, Giraffes and Zebras
Check the royal lions and tigers enjoying their swim or hunting the food thrown at them during feeding hours.
Do not miss the Seal show in the evening!!
Use complimentary Tram service to move from one zone to other if you are too tired.
Also, don’t miss the Kids area within Singapore zoo. You have slides, activities, games and even a complimentary water park for kids to enjoy.
You can enjoy tasty Indian meal at Copper Chimney restaurant.
Once zoo is completed, decide whether you want to visit Bird park or River wonders (River Wonders for panda-spotting and water rides) or Rainforest Kids world. We skipped these and headed back to Little India and Haji Lane for dinner and evening exploration.
Option 2: Night Safari (Evening)
Visit Jewel Changi airport in daytime. It is home to the world’s tallest indoor waterfall and Canopy Park — a true highlight for families
Spend 3-4 hours in Changi Jewel and then go to Singapore zoo for world’s first nocturnal zoo experience.
Guided tram rides through 7 zones with nocturnal animals.
Kids see creatures they’ve never seen, active at night.
Perfect if you have an early-morning flight the next day.
Budget: 2–3 hours for the tram ride.
Family Tip:
Zoo and Night Safari are quite far from the city center. Plan transport accordingly.
MRT for zoo is at Khatib which far from actual zoo. There are shuttles between Khatib and zoo. Easier and faster option is to take a cab via Grab from your hotel to zoo.
Day 6: Shopping, Culture & City Neighborhoods
